Shubham Kumar UPSC Strategy
“The static portion of the course constitutes the core of the preliminary exams,” claims Shubham. The static section has at least 55–60 questions. One must complete the syllabus with the fundamental texts (NCERTs) or any other source in order to have a solid comprehension of the static component. Ideally, candidates should not consult more than one source on a given subject. He continues by saying that candidates must learn to read and comprehend questions intellectually. He continues, “While taking the examination, one must utilize their intelligence to make an educated guess. If candidates pay close attention to patterns and thoroughly analyze exam papers from previous years, they will also benefit.
The current events section of the prelims paper is another crucial component. Current affairs must be read concurrently with the statics section. While preparing, he used Google, PT 365, and internet resources. It is sufficient to rely on one source when preparing for current events.
One should try both sectional and comprehensive mock exams, advises Shubham. Before going to the prelims, Shubham advises taking at least 40 practice exams. “By doing this, one’s chances of making mistakes and mistakes will be greatly reduced and it will make the candidate more effective and at ease while taking the test. Aspirants must avoid taking mock exams one week before the prelims and must attempt at least 20 tests during the last month, he advises.
