Alakh began providing instruction at an educational facility in Allahabad while still a student in class 11 for just Rs 5000 per month and decided to launch a YouTube channel in 2016 so that he could teach pupils for free online. He began uploading lectures on physics to his channel, which he named Physics Wallah – Alakh Pandey.

Through his mobile app Physics Wallah, he instructs physics to students in grades 9 – 12 in preparation for the JEE test. He instructs in his distinctive way, which the students adore and which has helped him succeed. After reaching one million followers on YouTube, Alakh was awarded the Gold Play Button. He attained the 9.5 million member milestone on YouTube in December 2022. By raising $100 million, this Ed-Tech Channel Physics Wallah company became India’s 101st unicorn startup.
