Gaurav Agarwal IAS topper, from the Pink City of India, has secured AIR 1 by cracking the most covetable UPSC exams in India. The life of Gaurav is filled with ups and downs. While he was graduating, it was a very hard time for him to get his degree from IIT Kanpur because he failed in many subjects.
In the last semester, he failed in another subject that made his degree extended by a semester. For clearing the backlog, he used to stay back on vacations and also, for seeking leniency, he paid regular visits to the professor’s accommodations. Which made him learn resilience.

After completing his education at school, IAS Gaurav Agarwal crack the toughest Engineering exam and bagged AIR 45 in IIT JEE-2001 at the age of 16. He did his graduation from the IIT Kanpur in the year 2005 with Computer Science Engineering. But Gaurav failed at IIT Kanpur, and his degree got extended for another semester.
However, this failure did not block his way to climbing the mountains. After this failure, he bounced back and cracked the toughest exam of MBA in India at the age of 21, by scoring 99.94 in CAT 2005 and joining the most academically rigorous MBA College. There he graduated with flying colors in 2008 and also begged a gold medal for academic excellence.
Also, he worked for 40 months at Citigroup as an Investment Banker.

Gaurav Agarwal lefts a well-paid job to serve the society of India and appears in an exam in which his success rate is almost 0.4% and also this exam is known as one of the most difficult exams in the world. When his family was busy with his wedding preparation, Mr Agarwal was busy with his books & preparation for the exams, he learns his strategy and appeared for the interview, which was just four days before his wedding.
Later, the UPSC results were declared, and Gaurav Agarwal secured AIR 1st in the UPSC 2013 and became the first person of the Royal State to bag the first rank in the Civil Services Examination. This was his second attempt at the CSE examination.

Currently, IAS Officer Gaurav is working as the CEO of Zila Parishad, Karauli Rajasthan. He has an interest in technology enthusiasts and stills follows his passion for finance. When everyone in the world was looking forward to using AI (Artificial Intelligence) to improve the productivity and the efficiency, but despite of this he is finding ways to utilize an AI in public policies. So that, backward people can avail themselves of maximum benefits of the advanced technology.
IAS Gaurav Agarwal worked on various technological projects, just to improve the life of the last mile, marginalized people and the poor. When the farmer’s distress was continuously rising in India, Gaurav Agarwal was trying to improve the farmers lives by using technology.

One of IAS Gaurav Agarwal’s projects was Machine Learning for the Agriculture Extension: Developing Agri Chatbots. The central objective of this project is to use machine learning to reach out to the millions of farmers in India in the backdrop of fast penetrating cheap data & smartphones.
To provide real-time alerts to the farmers IAS Gaurav Agarwal worked on a project related to Business Analysis for Kisan Call Centers (KCC)and leveraged the knowledge he gained during his previous stints. This project uses data analytics over millions of call records to bring out meaningful, real-time alerts regarding the agriculture distress in all parts of India so that timely administrative interventions may be made, and the distress alleviated.
