(PPP). Later, she worked in Visakhapatnam as the Deputy Commissioner for Commercial Taxes.
Smita held the positions of Joint Collector in Hyderabad and Kurnool. She assumed responsibility for the Karimnagar district in April 2011 and has since made a major contribution to the health and education sectors. She established Voter Panduga, an initiative that increased turnout at the polls, with success. During the 2014 general elections, she also served as the district collector for Medak, where she effectively ran free and fair elections with a high turnout.
