IAS Topper Alok Preparation Strategy
Alok bids all aspiring IAS candidates luck and suggests that they think about a career in academia, the media, or another industry before taking the test because he thinks the exam can be unpredictable. He says he wants them to feel detached from the test.
Alok further emphasized the need for cautious time management and intelligent selection of electives. He selected Sociology because it has many similarities to Political Science, which will shorten the preparation period, and Political Science because he was already a lecturer in that field and was captivated by the study of society.
Alok added that because the test syllabus is extensive, both quantitatively and qualitatively, and they provide guidance on how to do it, coaching centres do have a function to play.
