Roopa Mishra Biography
On June 9, 1977, Roopa Mishra was born in Angul, Orissa. She is 44 years old now. Roopa Mishra is the sixth All India Civil Service Examination topper from the state of Orissa. Throughout her academic career, she averaged more than 90% and was an excellent debater. In addition, she was an Odissi dancer.
She won the “Director’s Shield for being First in Order of Merit of the IAS 2004 Batch” at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration.

Mishra’s initial task as a sub-collector included conducting panchayat elections, dealing with law and order issues, and streamlining public distribution system-related duties. She completed her district training as an Assistant Collector in Mayurbhanj (2005-2006) under the supervision of the District Magistrate and Collector of the district, Shri. V.K.Pandian, IAS. During her one-year district training, she also served as the Block Development Officer of Khunta and the Tahsildar of Baripada. She was appointed Sub Collector of Khurda/ Khordha (2006-2008).
She was later appointed Deputy Secretary in the Home Department of the Government of Orissa (2008-2009). She was promoted to the position of District Magistrate and Collector, and her first appointment was in the Orissa district of Nabrangpur (2009-2010). Later, in 2011, she was appointed Collector of Khurda District. Then, in 2016, she was appointed Mission Director of the National Rural Health Mission, with added responsibility for Medical Corporation as Managing Director.
