Aruna Sundararajan Biography
Aruna was born in Kerala, the most learned state in India. She is a Kerala cadre lady IAS from 1982. She is from a middle-class family. Her father is a government employee, and her mother is a homemaker.
She was appointed as an IAS officer in 1982 as a result of her hard effort and patience. She was chosen from the Kerala cadre as an IAS official. The term “Supreme Court” refers to the Supreme Court of the United States. Because she has over 30 years of expertise as an Indian Administrative Service officer.
Aruna Sundararajan husband’s name is Ilyaz Reuse. IPS officer Ilyaz Reuse is the MD of an initiative at Infopark Kochi. He has currently resigned from the Indian Administrative Service.

Aruna finished high education while still living in her birthplace. And she has a bachelor’s degree in arts. Following that, she pursued an M.A. in Philosophy.
However, her childhood ambition was to become an IAS officer, so she began preparing for the UPSC test alongside her studies. Along with her graduation, Aruna began preparing for the UPSC test.

As Kerala’s founding IT Secretary, she conceived and spearheaded the Akshaya project, first begun in the rural district of Malappuram, Kerala, India, and later extended to the entire state in 1998. The Akshay Project is India’s first and largest e-literacy effort. The Akshay Project’s primary goal was to provide computer education to children, as well as to emphasize the importance of providing computer education to both men and women. Her project was largely effective; through it, over 6 lakh children received computer education, and over 10 lakh people in the state acquired digital skills. Akshaya also catalyzed one of the world’s biggest known Internet Protocol (IP)-based rural wireless networks. Akshaya has garnered national and international recognition as one of the most innovative and digitally transformative projects in the world.
Aruna was also important in establishing the IIITMK and the InfoPark, Kochi, which transformed Kerala’s IT landscape, as well as initiating the SMART City project in Kochi. She held a number of significant positions, including Country Head of the United Nations Global E-Schools Initiative and CEO of the prestigious Common Service Centre Project under the Government of India’s National E-Governance Project.
Aruna, a retired IAS official, and former telecom secretary have been appointed chairperson of the industry body Broadband India Forum (BIF).
