Karnati Varun Reddy Biography

A native of Miryalaguda,  in Nalgonda district, Telangana, Karnati Varun Reddy, who pursue his father’s dream of seeing his son as an IAS officer, achieved seventh place in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exams, among the nation and was first in the state.

Currently, Varun is posted as an Associate Commissioner with the Income Tax Department and is undertaking Indian Revenue Services (IRS) training in Nagpur.

Varun was planning to study MBA from one of the top IIMs, but after getting the 29th rank in JEE and a seat at IIT Bombay he goes for it and did his Computer Science there.

Karnati Varun Reddy who secured AIR 7 and lives in Telangana, has come from a respectful family. His father, Dr Janardhan Reddy is an Ophthalmologist by Profession. And his mother, P Nagamani who is the Agriculture Department’s additional director, was his pillar support of him in his journey to the UPSC. His brother is a surgeon at Warangal’s Kakatiya Medical College.

Dr Janardhan Reddy spoke about his son’s struggle by saying that Varun failed his first attempt at the exam. In his second attempt, he got ranked 166th in UPSC. Varun was still unsatisfied with this, then he attempted the third time and received the 225th position. Finally, without losing hope he again appeared in the examination and clear the exam by getting seventh in the nation.

Varun Reddy Kranti’s Optional Subject was Mathematics. He scored 178 & 146 in the optional paper I & II. Varun failed his first attempt at the exam. Karnati Varun Reddy Preparation Strategy

According to him, one should understand the concept and nature of the exam carefully, go through the whole syllabus and start the preparation for the UPSC CSE exam.

Varun Reddy claims that for the preparation for the Prelims exam, one should practice all the mock tests and MCQs papers regularly.

For the mains exam, he believes that aspirants must have limited resources and revise them daily and practice previous years’ papers, so they get an idea of the exam pattern. His keynotes were limited resources, daily revision and regular practice.

Additionally, he also says that having regular breaks will help you in maintaining your focus and concentration more.

He claims that if aspirants keep his/her practice regular and work hard, nothing can stop them from accomplishing their goal.
